Our Backyard – Anglesea

Welcome to Anglesea

It’s been a very quiet week in Melbourne with no official report from the REIV on clearance rates due to the lack of Auctions over Grand Final Weekend. Only 59 Auctions were reported, 45 of those selling. It’s back to house hunting as usual this coming weekend with 840 Auctions scheduled, so we expect to see strong sales results. The next 3 weeks will be busy as schools go back and a free run of weekends prior to the next round of sporting events take punters off to Spring Racing.

There has been a buzz around Anglesea as lots of visitors have been enjoying the coast and looking at property. We have been busy with private inspections, open for inspections and writing up offers on many properties and land sites. This is a timely reminder to purchasers that if you really love something, act quickly, make sure your pre-approval is set up, and deposit ready to go, so you don’t miss out. We have had a few disappointed people this week, that haven’t been quite ready and in a position to purchase. Nothing worse than living with regret and lying awake at night thinking about the perfect home you weren’t able to secure. This of course means for our vendors that we now have genuine buyers ready to go and conditioned to the process. We are constantly referring people and recently selling off market too.

This week we have a fantastic new listing: Roadknight Cottages.

Roadknight Cottages has been established as a business for the last 20 years by the existing owners Michael and Ava Lee. Michael designed and built not only the four bedroom home but the 8 individual cottages himself personally. Built of structural integrity, he is proud of the quality and workmanship of all of his properties.

The original house site has quite a notorious background. Michael and Ava Lee purchased the land originally from the billionaire businessman ‘Christopher Skase’ in the years before he fled to Spain. Skase, along with Finance, Channel Seven and a Football team, also built his empire by establishing the best resorts and property in Australia. He certainly had excellent vision for sites that offered unique and timeless appeal. The Mirage resorts in Port Douglas put the town on the map in Australia.

Roadknight cottages are in need for an update and because the construction is solid, it is literally just a cosmetic makeover, additional up to date technology, marketing and advertising that is required. Ava Lee and Michael admit that they are ready for retirement and a youthful approach would set this business up for a roaring success.

There are so many options for the right buyer to come in and create something wonderful. Enhance what is already here, develop the site, subdivide and sell off or get some friends and family together and create your own holiday resort! Any way you look at this property, there is a genuine opportunity to establish a healthy profitable investment for the future. Perhaps the start of your own empire!

Open for inspections on Saturday and Sunday or by appointment, so feel free to call us anytime.
