Lorne – Real Estate Market Update October 7

‘Lorne – Market round up’. According to R. P. Data consumer sentiment information released by Westpac and the Melbourne Institute showed an 8% improvement in the real estate consumer mindset over September. The lift in consumer spirits is welcome news and may mark a turning point for confidence levels amongst Australian home hunters, which previous to the September reading, was at an amazing 26 month low. There is a strong correlation between the trend in consumer confidence and property transaction volumes across the housing market, so any improvement in the index will be welcomed by the property sector. A subset of the Consumer Sentiment index, the ‘Time to Buy a Dwelling Index’ showed a 14.3% improvement over the month as more Australians take comfort in the renewed level of interest rate stability.

‘Lorne – Weekly report’. The second week of the school holidays has continued to see good numbers of people enjoying the coast and with the grand final a memory and Cameron Ling now retired, the focus on the coast will strengthen even further.
