Our Backyard – Anglesea

I was walking along the cliff top at Aireys Inlet this morning, looking at the spectacular view all the way around to Anglesea / Point Roadknight. The sun was dancing on the water and there were a few surfers taking a leisurely wave at Sunnymeade beach, I stood for a moment to breathe and relish the beauty as I do every day before I throw myself into work.

The little red tags hanging from the trees, were highlighting just a small section of what is on offer to all the participants of the Surf Coast Century event this weekend. We will have approx 3000 people coming to Anglesea to run or support these fantastic humans that are setting aside routine to embrace and challenge themselves in life. Our office doors have been swinging open all day as people are picking up keys to their properties to rest prior to the race.

We are so thrilled to be a major sponsor of this event that showcases our slice of the Australian coastline. From a sponsorship perspective this week, we also secured another 2 years as the major sponsor of the Anglesea Motor Yacht Club at Point Roadknight. As everyone knows, the Rusty Anchor bar over the summer is fast becoming known as one of the world’s most picturesque places to share a refreshing ale but more than that, it epitomizes what the quintessential day at the beach encompasses – a swim, surf, picnic lunch and then a catch up with mates for a drink and chinwag.

Our sponsorship of the Anglesea Golf Club also supporting what so many tourists come to see, friends playing a round, whilst dodging kangaroos basking in the warmth of the sunshine.

We see these associations as a perfect demonstration of our brand values, lifestyle assets, supporting the community but most importantly encouraging us all to take a step out of the busyness to pause, and live the way we should in order to take in the road ahead.

I’ll be picking up my mum from Anglesea aged care after work, to take her to my place to watch the mighty Tigers. She is battling Alzheimer’s and it’s a very sad and tough road. The one thing she does remember at the moment is her life involved in Richmond. Let’s hope they win….. if they don’t I won’t remind her tomorrow.

Whatever sporting event you’re doing or supporting, may it bring you joy and peace of mind. Life is short, sweet and beautiful, don’t miss a minute of it.
