Our Backyard – Anglesea

Happy New Year! We usually tend to play down celebrating New Years Eve, although for some reason I end up having an impromptu party each year & have a ball. This year I had two of my closest friends arrive back from overseas & I couldn’t believe my luck that they could both join our Anglesea crew to celebrate the beginning of 2018. It was one of the best New Year’s I’ve ever had & so lovely to have the first day of January swimming and relaxing at the beach. We went to Point Roadknight at the end of the day with our baskets of fish n chips from the kiosk and relished all hanging out staring out to sea. I love the banter of putting out to the universe what goals we wish to achieve, what changes we want to make in our lives, finding clarity in the grey areas & taking the time to set plans so life doesn’t run away without doing the things that are giving to our highest good. One of my friends runs one of the biggest advertising agencies in the world out of New York, her life is so hectic and the coast seems so far opposite from her life. My other friend went specifically to the UK for the last 3 years, to spend time with her family and let her children bond with their grandparents. Whilst the 3 of us, have lived very different lives, as it turns out all of our goals end up being so very similar at the end of the day. Those moments of taking time to appreciate what you have are always prominent at the beginning of the year, whether you call them resolutions or just taking time to plan out what you really really want for yourself, I think it’s a wonderful thing to do.

I have loved seeing everyone enjoying the coast over the summer, embracing the sunshine when it’s out and also relishing the cloudy days for guilt free movies and losing themselves in a book or magazine. In our office we see people arrive tired and stressed and then as they settle into their beach houses slowly unravel and the little things they weren’t so happy with turn into gratitude for being able to spend time in paradise. For our buyers, it’s a strong time to be looking at property and truly understanding how joyous it would be to have a beach house or lifestyle change of living on the coast. The reality is a beach house is not just for the summer and personally I love the coast through all the seasons of the year.  Again I’ve been running into buyers that looked 2 years ago and regretful that they haven’t purchased earlier as the market demands have increased so much.

We proudly sponsored the ‘Roo Run’ event which took place on the 27th, it was a particularly hot day and yet the fantastic number of participants still ran the coast. The range of ages were so impressive with children up to over 70 years, one lady has been running for the last few years and came first in her category, so inspirational. The rock to ramp swim was the following day, another great event. Wonderful for so many people combining relaxing with good for the soul activities.

Whatever the year unfolds for you, have a wonderful 2018 – hope everything you desire is fulfilled & we hope that includes spending more quality time on the coast!

See you at the open for inspections and private appointments or enjoying ‘Jack The Fox’ at the Aireys pub tomorrow night. We’ll be putting the air conditioners to the test tomorrow followed by a refreshing sea breeze on Sunday.
