Our Backyard – Anglesea

The coast has well and truly delivered on so many levels in the last week! The sunshine popping out at just the right time of day, the warmth just right not too hot not too cold but most importantly the surf has been exceptional!

Locals and anyone that’s staying on the coast witnessed perfect conditions for the Rip Curl Pro surf competition. Bells beach full of supporters cheering on our favorite Mick Fanning, coming a close second to the winner from Brazil. However in the womens, a wonderful winner with Australian Stephanie Gilmore winning the title – it’s so great to see female athletes getting the recognition they deserve in this industry right! Wouldn’t it be great to see her on the front page of the papers instead of cricket cheats! Gilmore attributing her win to the effect of having Mick Fanning’s support and feeling his calming energy. How beautiful is that.

The event brings a buzz not only to Torquay however all the way along the coast and it’s great for tourism bringing so many extra people to the local towns like us here in Anglesea. We were thrilled to have some pro surfers that actually competed in the comp staying in our holiday accommodation properties.

I particularly love this footage taken from Sebastian Zietz who posted on his facebook page, one of our attractions! Kangaroos just hopping down the street….. It’s a funny thing when Australians travel around the world and get asked if we have kangaroos in our front yard and we think it’s such a crazy question unless you’re an Anglesea person then it’s perfectly logical to see them everywhere you go. I must admit though I still get a real buzz out of having these gorgeous animals around our neighborhood.

We had another one of those frenzy situations on 30 Fairway Drive, Anglesea this week with multiple interested parties putting in offers to secure the property. Again buyers that had a chance to purchase weeks ago upset they didn’t move more quickly to secure the property. It’s indicative of the price range, with anything we list from $600 – $850K being attractive to 70% of the market / buyers in Anglesea.

I have been thrilled to have had so many buyers reach out in the last few weeks again giving me their buying brief so they don’t miss out on stock. So in light of that, we are giving our data base buyers an opportunity to see a new listing prior to it hitting the open market next week! This new listing is 2 Gabba Court, Anglesea. It’s a 3 bedroom home on approx 710 sqm of land. It has the private track at the rear of the property that leads down to the river, which is so desired by many buyers. It’s a cute little house that needs some love and a creative make over but all the ingredients you’re looking for……. So be quick to register your interest with Ben Jackson.

This is the last week of school holidays and another perfect week ahead being served up by the Mother Nature, so again a great opportunity to get some vitamin Sea and D & E and buy a beach house and have a surf while you’re here!

See you at the open for inspection and appointments.

Regards
