Our Backyard – Anglesea

Next week we head into June, it’s this time of year we start to review the first half of the year and analyse how the market has performed in Anglesea. From a Branch perspective, it’s been a really positive first and second quarter, not only for sales, however all our departments. Holiday Accommodation have had close to 600 bookings since January – this is guests checking into our properties, which has had even consistency due to a beautiful run of sunshine and warm weather. We have had our usual peaks like Easter and School holidays on top of our brilliant summer period. Property management, we always have a ‘waiting list’ of fantastic quality tenants wanting to secure permanent rental. When we list a property for permanent rental, the average time on market is 2 weeks, which is incredibly appealing for investors in the market.  Usually as we head into May and June our season drops away slightly, but not this year with events like marathons, bike races and generally plenty of buyers still wanting to purchase which is keeping us a lot busier than previous years.  We are on track to achieve $20 million in sales January – June 2018.

Every year we head to the Gold Coast to ‘AREC’ (Australian Real Estate Conference) to be inspired and educated on the industry with the view of continuously learning, growing and being better at what we do. I’m looking forward to seeing the 32 speakers over 48 hours! Sunday and Monday.  It’s a wonderful event to attend and fulfilling to see this industry achieving such professionalism and positive outcomes.

In 1995, John McGrath made a the decision to attend a real estate conference in the USA. His desire was to access top-level thinking that would enhance his role in Australian real estate and improve the local industry as a whole.

Inspired by the high standard of training and actionable ideas he gained from America’s top agents, John returned to Sydney with a first-hand insight into the value of these conferences.
