Our Backyard – Anglesea

Last weekend demonstrated that a lot of vendors and buyers are superstitious when it comes to buying or selling real estate! Strong sales activity driven by the Chinese Australian community and international buyers, had record results with 789 reported Auctions and a clearance rate of 79%. Saturday 8th of the 8th and if you add the numbers of 2015 they equal 8, how gr8 to have 8/8/8 on your contract of sale. There was a house in Camberwell 888 Riversdale road, which was particularly lucky for the vendor on the day.

The Anglesea market is still very busy. The weekend car park is always an indication of activity and last week was no exception with it being similar to peak holiday times. Our team was busy showing buyers through property by private appointment, which works very well for anyone wanting to maximise their time.

For visitors travelling through, you may have noticed more activity with Kangaroos around the town. There have been a few of these lovely creatures being hit by cars, so please take care as they are becoming more and more tame. One has decided to take over the grassy patch in the middle of the roundabout. Lovely to see however living life on the edge literally! The golf course is now doing tours, so if you are wanting to bring guests down to show some of our finest friends, this is a beautiful & safe way to see them.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of seeing some amazing Australian musicians at the Aireys inlet Pub. Every year they hold a special event called ‘Winter Song’ and show case excellent talent. Our local Taxi driver offers a wonderful service of being able to book drop offs and pick-ups, so enjoying a few drinks and being able to get home safely.

We have been negotiating again all week on several properties, so stock still clearing. A reminder that savvy buyers are presenting offers on the correct documentation – signed Vendor Statements and Contract of Sale in order for us to formally present to our vendors.
