Our Backyard – Anglesea

Welcome to Anglesea

I am totally in awe of the amount of people that participate in sporting events along our coastline. Last week I was fortunate enough to chat to our holiday guests when they were dropping their keys back to the office. Most of them had stayed with us for the weekend whilst they undertook the Surf Coast Century ultra marathon. One of our guests was elderly and he walked 100 kilometres – it took him 17 hours! Wow what an absolute legend. Everyone was raving about how the many many hours are incredible, as there is so much to look at along the way from wildflowers to creatures and animals. Congratulations to everyone involved and we are very proud to be sponsoring this event.

So what’s on this weekend…..well just 6000 fit and healthy cyclists!

Lorne is hosting the 2016 Amy’s Gran Fondo which has established itself as one of the most popular mass participation bike rides in the country attracting cyclists from across Australia and internationally. The event is a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier and with the 2017 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in France, the road to the rainbow jersey begins in Lorne.

The major events of the weekend include the Amy’s Otway Tour Interim in Mountjoy Parade from 4pm, Amy’s Wall in Bay Street from 5:45pm on Saturday and then on Sunday Amy’s Otway Tour Road Race at 7:45am and then the Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo rides from 8:30am. Presentation ceremonies for all events take place at the event village on the Lorne Foreshore at 12 noon.

Keep in mind if you are travelling to the coast, the Great Ocean Road will be closed from Lorne to Apollo Bay.

Next weekend is the commencement of school holidays for two weeks so we should see some activity and then of course at the tail end of the holidays, its grand final & Melbourne has a public holiday on Friday 30th September. Good time to book in a long weekend!!!

Interest rates staying constant continue to motivate purchasers to property, there has never been a better time to invest in real estate!

Have a great weekend, if you’re not doing something super healthy in the outdoors then I hope you find yourself in a relaxing space somewhere.

All of our properties can be viewed by private inspection outside of the advertised open for inspection times.
