Our Backyard – Anglesea

Welcome to Anglesea

If I was running for president, I certainly wouldn’t hold the voting just prior to a Supermoon! This incredible planetary event takes place On Monday 14th November. The moon will be closer to the earth than it’s been in 70 years, since 1948! And not to freak you out too much, that’s when the cold war was on. We all know people can get a little crazy around a full moon and from what I just witnessed, when a reality TV personality ends up running America, I don’t think it gets much more crazy town than that.  What I can say is when I woke up and saw the result of the election, I ran down to Point Roadknight and had a little blessing of gratitude for not only living in Australia but also living here in paradise.

Speaking of which of course today is Remembrance Day, this year 11 November marks the 98th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. The photo below was taken on 11th November 1918.

Last week I mentioned the Roo Run which is being held on Tuesday 27th December 2016. The website is up and running and you can register to get involved. The thing I love about this event is that it’s open to all ages. It was wonderful seeing people participating last year anywhere from 5 – 70 years old.   http://www.roorun.com.au/

Vic Roads Update re roundabout: asphalt laying will commence on Monday (possibly today but more likely Monday) which means that we are back to long delays again for the week. Please try to allow some extra time for the singing session in the car while you sit and wait……Good news is that they are on track to finish Dec 1(ish).

The market remains very strong with buyer activity and this week again makes it very clear that life is to be enjoyed, embraced and there is never a better time to go for it and secure your beach house.

This week we are fortunate to have a new team member and are thrilled to have Rebecca Carroll join us in Holiday Accommodation. Rebecca is super experienced and has moved from our Apollo Bay office. Welcome!

All of our properties can be viewed by private inspection outside of the advertised open for inspection times.

Have a great weekend.
