With every Australian chanting for rain (none louder than our prime minister Scomo), mother earth thankfully heard the call and opened the skies to offer relief to us all from fires and smoke! Whilst we are not there yet, there is slight ease and never before have we been happier to see grey clouds and cool conditions in summer!

If you don’t have plans tomorrow please get along to the Anglesea football & netball club – ellimatta reserve. Tickets are $20 and proceeds go toward bushfire relief including CFA Victoria, Wildlife Victoria & the Red Cross. There will be great entertainment with live music, a silent auction – one of our wonderful property owners who is a very talented artist has beautiful framed original work on offer, so a great opportunity to secure special items through the silent auction. This event another demonstration of a community coming together to support other communities and country towns. Whist we are all feeling so sad about the losses incurred on so many levels, on the other hand our hearts are full with the constant stories of the Australian spirit!

This time of year, I have loads of friends in town enjoying their beach houses which is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some restaurants & bars. I enjoyed a sensational dinner at captain moonlight recently, this week we headed out to Phoklore in Torquay – the food is fresh and delicious and if you like large eating like I do, the bowls of Vietnamese goodness will fill your tummy.  Being fish Friday, I popped around to the new captain moonlight seafood outlet near the IGA in Anglesea – delicious grilled flake and salad but I have to rate their potatoe cakes as the ‘best’ I have ever eaten in my life….  Tonight a quick drink at ‘last one inn’ and of course will endeavour to get to the rusty anchor bar over the coming week!

Other new business worth supporting in town are the dress shop at 141 Great Ocean Road, also just near ‘gelato gelato’ home made award winning ice cream, they have opened upstairs serving casual café food and drinks. Also stand up paddleboards to hire or purchaser – stonker! Just opposite the surf club.

With all this goodness going on, its kept us busy listing property and selling! Loads of buyers around coming through open for inspections, private inspections and spreading positive energy in our gorgeous coastal environment.

An evening of music and a silent auction to help raise funds for the Australian bushfire crisis. All profits made will be going towards the CFA, Wildlife Victoria and the Red Cross. Food and drinks available to purchase. We encourage you to bring your own glass and cutlery to minimise waste.
