Our Backyard Anglesea & Torquay

Last week I took a little regional road trip for a few days, visiting some gorgeous little towns in and around the high country and alpine national park.  Spring is such a beautiful time of year to go visiting, it was a visual delight and incredibly pretty with lush green fields, blossom on the trees and still seeing some snow-capped mountains around Mt Hotham and Mt Bulla. I checked out the ovens river in Bright, travelling to Yackandanda & Beechworth before heading to the Upper Goulburn River near Jamison. I stayed on a friend’s property with its own river frontage and decided if I’m brave enough to swim in the ocean then it would be a crime for me not to experience the crispness of the crystal-clear fresh water. The ocean is a hot tub compared to those snow fed rivers, but nonetheless it was incredibly invigorating and refreshing.

Living in a tourism zone like the great ocean road, I wanted to see and experience other aspects of our state and get a feel for how other towns present their holiday accommodation properties. I was super impressed with the house I stayed in at Bright and I think generally this industry in Victoria has a lot to be proud of, continuously setting high standards and growing this local market of tourists and travellers. From the perspective of our business on the holiday side, I know our company is always looking at ways to deliver positive experiences for guests knowing this is a strong area of growth. The main criteria for any property is presentation and something as simple as having a home clean and fresh is the number one expectation for anyone. As we head into our peak time, which is literally now only about 5 weeks away, we are in preparation mode to welcome many tourists to our beautiful coastline.

As far as the property market is concerned, according to Realestate.com.au – Anglesea currently has 12 properties on the market with the average sale price being $840,000, the permanent rental market house average is $428 per week.  4BR $516 & 3BR $411 p/w
