Our Backyard Anglesea & Torquay

8th February 2019

With the property market continually getting negative exposure, it feels pretty good to now hear buyers telling us that an apparent downturn certainly isn’t the case in Anglesea! A fantastic week with exceptional sales. Ben ran another ‘best and final offers’ campaign on 58A Bingley Parade, with 3 offers coming in well over the asking price, an excellent result in only two weeks on market. 13 Niblick Street also only on the market for 3 weeks with multiple interest and selling at the asking price.

27 Pickworth Drive was tested via the Auction process and selling a week after at the lower end of the quoted price range. From a Torquay perspective 54 St Georges Way is generating loads of interest!

Traditionally the following week or two after everyone heads back to the routine of work and school commencing, we can have a quiet couple of weeks before we then get another run on with sales. Great that the results over the last week are also going against that trend.

We are all talking about the findings of the Banking Royal Commission & glad it’s all over and that the results, whilst horrifying in some instances overall will be positive with the whole industry being cleaned up. The general public will hopefully see changes in how they are being serviced, we are anticipating that moving forward, lending won’t be such an arduous process and buyers can get back to purchasing property restoring renewed faith in the real estate sector.

We all had a lovely dinner at captain moonlite last night, it was perfect conditions for a drink on the balcony, a warm summer night overlooking the spectacular view of Anglesea main beach, Roadknight and down to Point Addis. We then headed into the restaurant for a delicious feast! A well-deserved breather, after the entire team worked so hard through our peak time of summer 6-8 weeks, long days and long weeks. It can be a tough time sending our friends and family off to enjoy our coastline, whist we make sure all our guests have a heavenly holiday or buyers are getting through properties. The good news is our holiday bookings are up 15% from last year, which is exceptional and again demonstrating that purchasing property on the coast is a positive investment.  The even better news is we get our coastline all year round and we are truly blessed that every morning we can head down to the beach and have a swim in that heavenly warm clean, clear water!

Have a great weekend, look forward to seeing you at the open for inspections and private appointments.
